Ed was trained as a graphic designer, so he tends to see things through those eyes. When he was a kid, food was food. He ate it, pretty much daily, but rarely thought about it otherwise. He started watching PBS cooking shows about the same time he bought his first camera. Some years later, Ed is happily combining these two pursuits.
Ed's approach to photography is somewhat the same way in which he cooks. He likes to have a loose plan, but also likes to leave some room for “happy accidents” along the way. "I want my images to tell stories and to respect the people and the food they portray. I like overly-dedicated, semi-eccentric, borderline-obsessive, risk-taking, tradition revering, get-your-hands-dirty artisan types. Tattoos optional."
Ed likes food that looks like you’re allowed to eat it. Oh, and he also likes crumbs.
